Sun Chlorella Corporation 40th Anniversary Event, Rakugo was held in Osaka
|
On October 3rd, SCC had its 40th anniversary event. Rakugo, a type of traditional Japanese performing art, served as the entertainment at SCC, Kyoto headquarters. Rakugo began in the sixteenth century. By the middle of the seventeenth century, the use of gestures and facial expression to accent stories had become common and soon it became custom to include a "punch line," called the ochi, at the end of the story for added effect. Rakugo has been a facet of Japanese history for more than 300 years and a great number of Japanese still enjoy and are familiar with it. |
