Sun Chlorella Classic Gold championship

The Sun Chlorella Classic Gold golf championship celebrated its 11th annual competition. Tadahiro Takayama won this year’s tournament for the first time, scoring 17 under 271 at Otaru Country Club in Hokkaido, Japan. The first runner up, Dinesh Chand from Fiji, was three shots behind (274). This win brought an end to five years of unsuccessful seasons for the 32-year-old Wakayama prefecture native. “This is a huge confidence boost. I’ll try hard to win two more events this year,” said Takayama.  Ryo Ishikawa, defending champion, had the most media attention. Unfortunately he lost momentum after a record setting day’s low (63).

Weather added difficulties to one of the longest 18-hole courses in Japan during this year’s tournament. Heavy rainfall suspended the games forcing players to cover extended ground on the last day of the competition that many found difficult.

Congratulations to all those who placed. Sun Chlorella Classic prides itself on possessing one of the richest prize money among golf tournaments across the nation.
