Seasonal report from Sun Chlorella Dusseldorf Branch

German Beer

Reported by Mr. T. Sugimoto
Branch Manager of Sun Chlorella Düsseldorf Branch

Beer plays a large part in German culture. There are around 1,300 breweries and 5,000-6,000 brands of beer. In fact, annual consumption per person in Germany is about 150 liters, ranking Germany first in the world.

Here in Düsseldorf, where the Sun Chlorella Corporation Germany branch is located, is home to several proud breweries that brew a local beer called "Alt Beer". Alt Beer is a dark, amber beer with a mild taste and contains about 4.8% alcohol.

Did you know that German breweries have been adhering to the Bavarian Reinheitsgebot (purity law) since 1516? The only ingredients in the beer that they allow are barley-malt, hops, yeast and water. Five thousand German brewers adhere to the Bavarian Reinheitsgebot by using only these four ingredients.

Many people like to pair drinking beer with high caloric foods. Beer tends to be an appetite stimulant, so when drinking just remember "everything in moderation."
