Alternative medicine (1)
| Health insurance plan crisis In Japan, most people have low medical expenses due to their participation in health insurance plans. Although Japan has become a country with the greatest longevity, it is now experiencing rapid increases in medical expenses. In the 2007 fiscal year, medical expenses reached 33.4 billion yen ($360 million US dollars) and will reach 50 billion yen ($500 million US dollars) in the near future. Under these serious budget conditions, Japan now needs to promote preventive medicine to cut medical expenditures. Also, each person needs to take preventative measures to build up a healthy body instead of spending money on disease treatments. |
