The facts of genetically-modified crop (4)

The risk of genetically modified foods

What risks do genetically modified foods (GMO) hold? Genetically modified (GM) foods are foods that are made from genetically modified organisms (GMO). If swarms of normal insects eat genetically modified corn with genes of bacterium that has eradicate toxins called Bacillus thuringiensis (herbicide), this herbicide slows the insects growing and their death rate increases. We cannot completely deny the direct affect the toxins of GMO have on insects. The indirect risks are that chemical herbicides are increasingly retained in GMO’s and affect human health. Organ phosphorus herbicides have similar chemical construction and have been reported to have negative effects on a child’s brain. Also, it could possibly increase allergies, hormonal disturbance and compromise immunity.
