Sleep and health (1)

Nowadays, we acknowledge the importance of sleep through our growing concern about health. Sleep means to rest the body and brain in order to maintain good health. If you cannot sleep well at night, you cannot keep working effectively in the office or school. It is biologically natural to work during the day and to sleep during the night. Sleep times and patterns vary from person to person, but in general people 10 to 19 years of age need 8 to 10 hours of sleep, people in their 20’s to their 50’s need 6.5 to 7.5 hours and people over 60 need 6 hours or so.

In modern society, social activities take place around the clock and due to this many people stay up late. After a period of sustained sleep deprivation, our efficiency of activity drops and blood glucose and blood pressure levels easily become out of control. Also, it is not physically good to sleep too much for the purpose of recovering the sleep that was lost. By doing this, you may feel groggy Monday morning even though you slept well? Sunday evening. Too much sleep breaks the sleep rhythm and cannot remove fatigue. We require sound sleep practices to help maintain our health.
