Forest therapy (1)
Due to the current economic conditions, most people face a high level of stress. Excessive stress has a negative impact on us mentally and physically, and could cause psychosomatic disorders and lifestyle diseases. We now live in a stressful environment surrounded by artificial materials and are close to losing one of our most precious gifts, nature. Researchers have discovered that walks in the forest can have a relaxing and calming effect, this is now known as “forest therapy.”
The words “forest therapy” was developed by the chief of the Forest Agency, Mr. Akiyama in 1982. He has promoted forest therapy under the catch-phrase” Use the forest for our health,” It has been said that forest therapy has a positive effect on health by reducing blood pressure, lowering cortisol levels and inducing an overall relaxing and calming effect. Forest therapy is utilized as a preventative measure that can help increase immunity, thereby helping one to feel well overall, as opposed to treating a specific disease.
