Sunshine and freshwater nurture the power of chlorella

Chlorella is a unique type of freshwater algae. A unicellular organism that thrives in areas with clean water and ample sunlight. Believed to have emerged over 540 million years ago, chlorella was first documented by Dutch researchers in England in 1890.

These tiny green algae, each measuring only between 3 to 8 micrometers, demonstrate impressive growth rates. They multiply four times every 20 to 24 hours. This rapid cell division helped it survive and adapt to significant changes on Earth, including ice ages and volcanic activity.

Chlorella contains a variety of nutrients. Approximately 60%*1 of chlorella powder is protein. It also contains various vitamins and minerals, as well as all nine essential amino acids, with an amino acid score of 100.

Each gram of chlorella powder contains tens of billions of chlorella cells(*2).
